YPN Leadership Program

The Young Professionals Network of the Miami-Dade Chamber of Commerce’s  presents its inaugural leadership program. The YPN Leadership Program is an amazing opportunity for tomorrow’s leaders to gain an opportunity to forge relationships while they learn from today’s leaders.

The eight-month Program is the area’s premiere executive-level program, immersing participants in the major socioeconomic issues facing the Miami-Dade County.

The Program comprises retreats, full-day seminars, site visits, discussion groups, conversations with leaders and experts, service projects, cultural events, and other activities. Our Fellows explore critical community challenges, examine themselves as leaders, and build transformative relationships of trust and collaboration.

Working within an unparalleled network of engaged civic leaders, YPN Leadership Program participants develop the skills to get things done in a complex, multi-stakeholder environment. This opportunity presents participants—professionals who are deeply immersed in the Miami-Dade County’s social, political, and economic issues—with challenges designed to push them to explore all aspects of an issue and navigate varying stakeholder interests. The program uses intellectual resilience and inquiry-based leadership training methods practiced by business executives and leading nonprofits.

YPN Leadership Program meets May through January and requires a significant time commitment.  Sessions include:

  • Opening Session
  • Networking Events (Fellows Selection Day, and Miami-Dade Chamber Gala)
  • 7 Issue Sessions, public policy explorations of current, hot-button topics, selected and organized by small teams of participants to educate the entire cohort. Issue Sessions are held monthly on Saturdays
  • Service Project The class project is an opportunity to address a need in the community, and to rally a diverse group to make an impact
