Founded in 1974, the Miami-Dade Chamber of Commerce leads the way towards long-term business prosperity, by providing advocacy, networking, resources, and training to men and women in business in South Florida.

We are the organization that focuses on the needs and concerns of the black business community, minorities and women in South Florida. The Miami-Dade Chamber of Commerce strives to Provide a World of Business Opportunities for our members since our founding and presently. We welcome all members regardless of race, ethnicity or creed. Our present membership reflects the rich cultural diversity that defines Miami.

The Chamber provides the following services to its members: Technical assistance in business development operations; Promotion of trade missions throughout the globe; Networking opportunities at business related forums; Leaders exchange events; and Business stimulated projects and activities.

Advocacy is at the top of our to-do list each and every day. Creating and seeking opportunities while advocating on behalf of the Chamber’s membership is an integral facet of who we are. Within Miami-Dade County there are numerous challenges for inclusion not only in the private sector but also in the public sector. Creating avenues of opportunity through advocacy in both the private and public sectors is at the forefront of our mission.

Access to capital has been and continues to be a challenge when it comes to the small business community, coupled with being a small black business the obstacles are increased seven fold. The Miami Dade Chamber of Commerce has partnered with several organizations to address the need for capital. Through numerous workshops and our partnerships, we seek to create avenues that will provide support to our member’s needs. In 2014 the Chamber began its micro-loan program, providing low interest loans to our membership.

Procurement opportunities abound in both the private and public sectors, the Chamber provides opportunities to engage with various corporate and public institutions through various workshops and one on one meetings. Working with the Beacon Council, Miami Dade County School Board, Miami Dade and Broward Counties, the Miami Dade Chamber of Commerce seeks to educate and provide contracting opportunities in both the private and public sectors of Miami Dade and Broward Counties.

Certification workshops, and other technical assistance is provided on a monthly basis, through the numerous Chamber affiliations that include the Small Business Administration, Minority Business Development Agency Business Center, Neighbors and Neighbors Association and others throughout Miami Dade and Broward Counties.

The Foundation will offer scholarships for nascent businesses and aspiring entrepreneurs who are focused on dedicating their acquired skills, talents and passions to a new enterprise. The Foundation model recognizes that these businesses may require additional subsidy to access these technical training. The Foundation’s budget is envisioned to accommodate these needs as well as more established business that are able to make some contribution to the costs of these training sessions. In addition the Foundation will provide scholarships for graduating Seniors in Miami Dade County.
